Background of the temple: Beng Melea is locating approximately 55km Northeast of Angkor, around 1 hours driving. Beng Melea has been a newly opened to the public temple, most probability in 1998. Through it has been not restored and is now a fairly ruinous state, almost totally overgrown by the multiple varieties of vegetation and is being surrounded by jungle. This larger-scale temple of Beng Mealea one of the very Hindu temple build in the 12th century in the reign of King who built Angkor Wat. This position of this temple was very strategic.

Prasat Pram is the collection of the five temples constructed in the same premise. 4. If time permits, take your pause and relax for a while before visiting the main temple complexes known as Prast Thom and the Seven-Level Temple locating in the same compound. Prasat Thom consists of an extensively looted temple area that leads through to an open field where you’ll find Prasat Seven-tiered pyramid temple 55m (180ft) wide and 36m high, making it one of the tallest temple by the Khmer. Inscription indicate that the top level once housed a linga that may have stood four and a half meters (15ft) tall.
